Exercise Prescription
An Exercise Physiologist is a specialist in prescribing exercise to people of all ages in order to help a person target specific areas of need, to assist in weight reduction, to develop skill sets, and to improve physical function.
Exercise physiologists are qualified to prescribe exercises to children, teenagers, adults, and elderly populations. Their study and training enable them to prescribe exercises to improve the physical capacity and quality of life of people with specific medical conditions and needs.
Exercise physiologists differ from physiotherapists in that they consider the whole body and it's component systems when prescribing exercises. An understanding of each body part and their relation to the whole body system, particularly their role in specific activities, gives Exercise Physiologists an edge in perscribing exercises which will benefit not only one target area, but a person's overall health and fitness.
Konfident Kids has an accredited exercise physiologist on board who is able to conduct one-on-one and group personal training sessions for children. Children have a unique response to exercise, as their bodies are still developing physically and mentally. They also require a much more varied training programme in order to keep their interest levels up - vital if they are to persevere with a training programme and get results!
