Welcome to Term 3!

The kids are back at school - and that means a return to Konfident Kids classes!

Term 3 is an 10 week term, with our Saturday classes ending on September 25th.

I would like to welcome back all of our returning Konfident Kids and their families, and also welcome all of the new faces to our classes! I hope you all have a wonderful term.

A Farewell to Konfident Kids

It is with sadness that I inform you all that I have resigned as Konfident Kids Programme Manager, and will be leaving Konfident Kids at the end of Term 2.

I have been with Konfident Kids since it's inception in 2007, and have thoroughly enjoyed helping to build this programme into what it is today. Starting with one Penrith Saturday class, we now run weekly sessions in 5 different areas each term, as well as classes in 3 different child care centres, lots of sports parties, one-off events, and our holiday sports camps!

It has been a terrific journey to have undertaken; being challenging, at times daunting, always interesting, and loads of fun! I have met lots of fantastic kids and their parents, worked with a host of dedicated and passionate coaches, and had great freedom in my roles as Coordinator and then Manager.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Konfident Kids and their families all the best with their future sporting endeavours, schooling, and ongoing active and healthy lifestyles.

I would also like to thank all of our staff for their time, hard work, and ongoing commitment to the development of Konfident Kids across Greater Sydney!

Another big thank you must go to our admin support in the head office - without your hard work, time and knowledge Konfident Kids would not be able to continue.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Directors at Accent / Konfident Kids for their trust and faith in my abilities, and for allowing me to grow and develop along with this wonderful programme!

I am sure Konfident Kids will continue to grow and develop, and provide a priceless avenue for young children in Greater Sydney to participate in structured sporting activities, building their skills to ensure a lifelong dedication to health, fitness, and sports!

July Holiday Vacation Care

We may only be in week 4 of an 11-week term, but it's never too early to be thinking about holiday vacation care for the kids.

Konfident Kids will be running our 3-day sports camp these coming July holidays from Monday 12th - Wednesday 14th July, 8:30am - 4pm daily.

Our camp includes lots of sports activities and games, nutritional health sessions, and kids' free choice time, and is guaranteed to keep your kids active, entertained, and may even wear them out for you too!

Costs are $100 for the 3 full days, or $35 per child per day.

We run our camp from Nepean High School 115-119 Great Western Hwy, Emu Plains.

January Camp a Success and Welcome Australia Day

Firstly, congratulations to our Sports Camp kids of January 2010! Our returning kids had another fantastic time and our new kids thoroughly enjoyed their first Konfident Kids experience! We didn't even really mind the heat!

Each day the kids participated in 3 sports, learning the rules and skills required. They participated in a short nutrition education session, which includes interactive activities to assist in learning. This time our focus was on drinking plenty of water (especially in the heat) and meal planning - Why should we eat a balanced diet? They also ate some fruit salad for afternoon tea - a great way to reinforce their nutrition information and to help the children re-stock their energy stores!

During the afternoons, the kids are able to choose their own recreation activities; watching a movie, making art & craft, having their faces painted, playing games, or playing with their own gaming systems - the perfect way to relax and recuperate before another day of fun & activity! Art & craft had an Australia day theme and the kids thoroughly enjoyed making their Australian Animal facemasks, Kangaroo Pencil holders, Australian flag medals and Aussie colouring pages, which they are able to wear and wave on Australia Day!

Do you have a passion for sports and teaching?

Are you active and able to keep up with our Konfident Kids?

We are currently looking for coaching staff to run our classes, vacation care programmes, and parties.

The majority of our classes and parties run on weekends, and driving is required.

Exercise Science & Fitness students, childcare workers and anyone with a sports coaching background is encouraged to apply. First Aid certification is favourable, and we require all staff to complete the Australian Sports Commission's 'Beginning Coaching - General Principles' Course.

Konfident Kids wins Local Business Award for 3rd year running!

3 Years in a Row!!!

Konfident Kids is very excited to announce that we took out the "Children's Services" category at the Penrith TrueLocal Business Awards on Friday 7th August.

We are extremely proud to win our category 3 years in a row, and feel that we are able to provide a great service to our local communities. It is fantastic to be acknowledged for this.

I would like to thank my staff for all of their hard work and hours put in to ensure our programme delivers on what we promise. A big thank you to our admin and behind-the-scenes staff who put in hours of hard work to ensure Konfident Kids runs smoothly.

Lastly, I would like to say a big thank you to all of our Konfident Kids families - both old and new! Your support means a lot to us, and we look forward to improving our programme so that we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our local communities.
